Handshake 2.0 highly prizes interns who 1) are internally motivated and can self-supervise, i.e. generate work products through their own initiatives, 2) complete the required work product on time and as specified, 3) follow the format required for a “best practices” business blog post using our Writers' Guidelines, 4) generate and execute new ideas, and 5) contribute their gifts, talents, skills, ideas and energy to the mission of the enterprise.

We welcome all majors from all local universities and colleges.

Handshake 2.0 is a venture of Handshake Media, Inc., a member company of business accelerator VT KnowledgeWorks.

Internship Details:

10-week internships, 5 hours per week, or as specified by your college or university.
Internships are available unpaid or for course credit.
All positions require off-site work. Interns provide their own Internet connections.
The required work product for internships is the same for all jobs at Handshake 2.0. Following the Writers' Guidelines is required.
Information and skills learned during the internship are transferable to any company with a Web presence.
We are open to on-the-job learning. The work product is primarily in the form of blog posts and what one discovers as one goes makes for excellent reading.
Handshake 2.0 duly notes, even expects, even hopes, that interns may consider becoming entrepreneurs themselves. Handshake 2.0 looks forward to new business relationships with these new businesses.
