Positions Open at Phoenix Packaging

Posted by Handshake 2.0 at 8:28 AM on October 26, 2011:

On my return from pitching She Chooses at Distilled Intelligence 1.0, I had the distinct pleasure of sharing a van ride from the Roanoke airport with Mr. Humberto Peschl and his team on their way to Phoenix Packaging's new manufacturing plant in Dublin, Virginia.  Our conversation focused on difficulties in finding skilled labor - mobile app developers for Handshake Media and mechanical and electrical personnel for Phoenix Packaging.  I was interested in the skills Phoenix sought, we exchanged cards, and Ariadne Milare kindly shared more information with me.

Phoenix Packaging, a subsidiary of Grupo PhoenixPhoenix Packaging is a subsidiary of Grupo Phoenix, a multinational company located in four countries which started a brand new manufacturing facility in Dublin, Virginia making food packaging for big brands in the U.S. market.  The plant officially opened on March 30, 2011.  (Here's a news release from the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance (.pdf).)
