As a student, I remember being given the advice “Write what you’d love to read.” In 2011, perhaps that advice would be “Design the app you’d love to use.”
I think Kelsey Sarles, creator and designer of Thought Full, did just that. My favorite update from her during our work together to turn the idea she loved into a mobile application was this: “I will use the app to record quick bursts of inspiration or quick reminders that I can visit later.”
Now that Thought Full is in the iTunes App Store, Kelsey is already using Thought Full for reminders and “quick bursts of inspiration.” She designed Thought Full for people to be able to use however they think and however they best capture their thoughts – as notes, lists, photos, even audio.
I was enchanted to receive this audio file (.wav) from Kelsey of a pep talk reminder she recorded for herself about running. It’s a sweet, funny – and true – example of a wonderful way to use Thought Full.
And here are screenshots from Kelsey’s full “thought” – Go for a Run – in her To-Do category using Thought Full.
This is a lovely app, Kelsey.
ThoughtFull(TM) – an app to remember – was created and designed by Kelsey Sarles and developed by Jim Gray of New River Mobile using Titanium Appcelerator. Thought Full is a Handshake(R) mobile application produced by Handshake Media, Incorporated. Thought Full is in the iTunes App Store.
