Tyson DanielThe Creekmore Law Firm PC is pleased to announce that Tyson Daniel has joined the Firm’s business practice in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Tyson graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1995 and obtained his law degree from the University of Richmond in 1999.  He then began work with the Public Defender’s Office in Danville, and later in Roanoke. In 2002, he transitioned to private practice in a small firm in Rocky Mount. In 2004, Tyson joined the Capital Defender’s Office, through which he successfully handled numerous death penalty cases at the trial level.

Tyson ultimately gave in to his entrepreneurial spirit and pursued the opportunity to market and sell a line of new active wear and ‘wearable-electronic’ products known as LimbGear(R). In so doing, Tyson recruited a management team, capitalized the business, sourced the materials, secured the production manufacturing, configured the supply chain logistics, secured sales and brought the product to market.  In the process, Tyson prosecuted several trademarks to registration, worked directly with patent counsel on multiple patent applications, and negotiated licensing agreements with dozens of colleges and universities around the country. In 2010, Tyson was named among the “Top 20 Under 40” business people in the greater Roanoke Valley area by the Blue Ridge Business Journal, and LimbGear(R) was named among the “Top 40 Innovator” companies by Apparel Magazine. 

The Creekmore Law Firm PC Most recently, Tyson has assisted the Virginia Tech Hokies’ Defensive Coordinator, Coach Bud Foster, in setting-up and managing his non-profit scholarship corporation, The Lunch Pail Defense Foundation, which Tyson will continue to manage and promote going forward.

Tyson’s business acumen and experience, coupled with his legal knowledge, are exciting strategic and tactical assets for the Firm. So many of our clients are start-ups and emerging businesses who need not only the legal advice and services we provide but also the practical, real world business experience of an advisor who’s “been there and done that.” Tyson brings this unique combination to the table and will be an immediate and valuable counselor for all our business clients.  Additionally, his background as a criminal trial lawyer gives us the flexibility of now serving those clients who come to us with needs in that arena.

Tyson is married to Catherine “Van” Daniel and has a 3-year-old son named Luke.
