Handshake Media, the parent company of Handshake 2.0, has had a stellar year. For me, these were the shiniest moments.
We expanded our vision of content creation to mobile applications, developed the Handshake(TM) App, released mobile apps for both the Android and iOS operating systems (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad compatible), and have 3 more mobile applications under development.
We've commissioned research on women and mobile applications from Piedmont Research Associates. They released their first report, The Apps That Connect Us – A Report on Women, Smart Phones and Mobile Apps, and a report on their women and mobile apps survey will be released in early 2011.
Who's in Valley Business FRONT?, featuring the people and photographers of Valley Business FRONT magazine, launched in 2010, has a whopping 45 posts so far, and will continue next year. I've loved writing the monthly workplace advice column for Valley Business FRONT as well.
Maureen Carruthers became a columnist for Handshake 2.0.
(I can be serious and have been referred to as "fun-challenged." I can too have fun – these Handshake highlights were a blast!)
I had a hoot tweeting away at Smart College Visit's CampusChat from the very first one on May 5, 2010.
I absolutely loved the company of Martin Houdbine and Charles-Eric Gorron at Handshake 2.0 Headquarters during their participation in the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Student Business Concept Competition.
And when did I laugh the most in 2010 as head of Handshake?
Best wishes to all for star-filled moments in 2011!
