First College Visit, a series of first college visit stories by business professionals, is sponsored by SmartCollegeVisit, a Blacksburg, Virginia-based higher-ed marketing and college visit planning portal focused on mobile app and mobile web development with a special interest in creating travel and location-based tools and services for colleges and universities.

We invite you to share your First College Visit story with Handshake 2.0’s audience.

We welcome: 1) your personal story about your first visit to the college or university you ultimately attended, or 2) your personal story of what it was like to take your son or daughter on a college visit. For story examples, here’s the series so far.

Please send your story as an email or a Word doc and include:

  1. a related photo – of you as a college student is ideal – attached as a .jpg
  2. your full name
  3. the name of the college or university about which you’re writing
  4. that college or university’s URL
  5. the name of your company, organization, or institution capitalized and spaced as you want it to appear in text
  6. the URL of the site you want linked to the name of your company
  7. your LinkedIn Public Profile URL or the URL of the bio page of your choice
