Get Exposed @ Tech Expo – Show Up!

Dear Cory Donovan, Executive Director of the NewVa Corridor Technology Council, a.k.a. the NCTC:

Blog Diva, a.k.a. Anne Giles Clelland, read your interesting comment and would very much like to attend Tech Expo 2008 on September 5, 2008.  She likes conversations at "the next level," being a "trustworthy neighbor," and helping!

And she’s enchanted to see who’s going to be exhibiting at Tech Expo!

But Blog Diva has never been "the show" at an expo–she’s always been the audience!  Could you be a little more specific about "Reserve a booth space" ?  What’s in the booth space?  A table?  A linen tablecloth?  Fresh flowers?

If other people are like Blog Diva, this is all so new that she needs a step-by-step guide to having a successful experience at Tech Expo.  She loves to meet and greet, but what does she bring?  A tripod?  A poster?  A board? What’s the optimum size of the board?  Ack!

Would you be willing to walk Blog Diva through setting up her own show?  If so, she would be very grateful.

Awaiting your guidance,
Blog Diva

Cory Donovan replies:

Not to worry, Blog Diva.  You can’t go wrong at the Tech Expo.

The NewVa region of Virginia is fortunate to have a diverse base of technology. However, that means that the people in our community (such as biochemists, software developers, and mechanical engineers) don’t necessarily speak the same language. So, look at this as an opportunity to practice your elevator, investment, or sales pitch.

If your fellow NCTC members understand what you do and your value proposition, they can help make the connections to accelerate your business success!

The great thing about the NewVa Tech Expo is it can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. The important thing is to be involved.

Your Tech Expo registration fee includes admission for your company representatives, an eight-foot draped table, and two chairs.

If you have a trade show booth, we invite you to use it. If you’re a small company and don’t even have brochures yet, no problem. Print up a fact sheet that includes the pertinent info about your company and bring some business cards. If it helps to show a diagram, bring a laptop or poster. If you have a product to display, do so – whatever best explains your capabilities.

By showing up at Tech Expo, you include yourself in the discussion about the budding technology community in Southwest Virginia.

So, Blog Diva, with our Tech Expo-provided draped table, you could display your own fresh flowers.  And with two chairs, there’s room for your cat!

See you at Tech Expo on Friday, September 5, 2008!
